BREEDING RULES
Breeding works a little differently here in Ivy, as opposed to other pokemon sites. We like to handle things realistically here. Two pokemon are not going to willingly breed unless they are in love, wouldn't you agree? Simply follow the below rules to breed.
- The pokemon you breed must be male and female. If genderless, it must be paired with a ditto.
- If both pokemon are the same species, you will only get that species from breeding.
- Egg groups are not considered here. Instead, we use types. Breeding two pokemon will get you offspring of one of the types of the parent pokemon. For example, breeding a Bellossum (Grass-type) and an Arbok (Poison-type) will result in either a randomly generated grass-type, a poison-type, or a grass- and poison-type.
- You must have ten posts of these pokemon interacting! These ten posts must all be in the same thread, but that thread could be anything from a simple interaction to a journey. This is to show the pokemon getting along and falling in love. To make it clear that they are breeding posts, state so in the bottom of the post somehow.
- Once you have the ten posts completed, create a thread here in the Breeding Section with a link to the thread and page these posts are on. Also be sure to include the pokemon and their stats. A mod will then respond with the pokemon that was born.
- Normally, when a mod grants you the pokemon it will be at level one with two random egg moves; however, if you wish to have an increased chance of receiving a shiny when breeding (normal breeding is a 1/10 chance, this way awards a 1/5 chance) simply state so and the mod will reward you with an egg instead. Although you will have to hatch the egg, it is more likely to be a shiny pokemon!
- If one of the pokemon you are breeding is shiny, the chance of birthing a shiny is 1/5 without requesting an egg. If both are shiny you will definitely get shiny offspring.
